P&O Cruises Australia’s former Pacific Aria has been renamed Aegean Goddess, in preparation for her new life with new owners, Seajets.
Aegean Goddess is currently docked in Piraeus, Greece, after arriving on 6 November from Malaysia.
The ship was due to transfer to British-based cruise line Cruise & Maritime Voyages in spring 2021, however the deal fell through when the company ceased trading over the summer.
Greek ferry operator Seajets has also acquired two former Cruise & Maritime Voyages ships at auction. Magellan departed ffom Tilbury Wednesday evening and is currently heading to Greece. Columbus is expected to follow in the next few days.
The ships will join the former Oceana (now Queen of the Oceans), Maasdam ( now Aegean Myth) and Veendam (now Aegean Majesty) as part of Seajets growing group of cruise ships.
With no cruises being marketed yet, it is still unclear what Seajets plan on doing with all of their ships.
