Aegean Majesty Breaks Free From Moorings And Runs Aground In Storm

Holland America's Veendam

Aegean Majesty, the former Holland America Line Veendam has broken free from its moorings and ran aground in Greece.

It is understood the ship drifted away from its berth at Corinth port on the evening of Friday 6 November during stormy conditions.

The ship then ran aground on a sand bar close to the port’s marina. The ship currently remains anchored in position, however it is unclear whether the ship is still grounded.

Aegean Majesty has been docked in Corinth port since 15 October. The ship was recently purchased from Holland America Line and renamed by her new Greek owners Seajets. Her operational future remains unclear.
